Make plans now to attend the RITELL Spring Conference which will take place at Rhode Island College on April 5th from 8:30-12:30!
The theme for the spring conference is: The Interactive Classroom: Strategies to Ensure High Levels of Student Engagement and will feature a nationally-recognize speaker, Dr. William Himmele, coauthor of the 2009 ASCD book The Language Rich Classroom and of the bestselling 2011 ASCD text Total Participation Techniques.  His third publication will be released this summer through ASCD and is titled Total Literacy Techniques: Tools to Help Students Analyze Literature and Informational Texts.
Dr. Himmele's opening session is titled: Total Participation Techniques: Maximizing ELL Participation in the Classroom.
His breakout session will focus on TPT-Conducive Classrooms and he will highlight a variety techniques that ensure high levels of student participation and engagement.
In addition to Dr. Himmele, we will also have two other breakout sessions delivered by Crissa Carlotti, ESL Teacher and World Language Department Chair, East Providence High School and Laura Storz, ESL Faculty Associate and Curriculum Coordinator at MCPHS University in Worcester. Crissa will present Strategies and Ideas for Engaging K-12 English Language Learners and Laura will present on Using Dialogue Journals to Engage Adult Learners.
